What · A controlled experiment environment
Our team capstone project is an environmental chamber for droplet evaporation experiments. It aims to reduce environmental variation so experiments are easier to repeat and compare.
The design targets 20–70°C and 5–95% relative humidity, with clear viewing surfaces for observation.

How · My dehumidification system
I am responsible for the dehumidification system and use SolidWorks for design modeling. An air pump moves air through moisture-absorbing desiccant to help the chamber reach low humidity, alongside the team's temperature and humidity controls.
The design needs to remove moisture while limiting airflow that could disturb the droplets and fogging that could obscure observation.

Why · Current design and next steps
The current CAD design shows the chamber, components, and tubing arrangement. This work applies mechanical system design to the needs of an experiment.
The ranges above are design targets, not measured results. Next steps are to test humidity and temperature stability, then check the effects of airflow and fogging during observation.
Images show the CAD design. The 20–70°C and 5–95% RH ranges are design targets.
